When You're Stuck, Decode Emotion to Unlock Adaptive Thinking

Your client is stuck, and no amount of powerful questioning is moving them. The reason is rarely a thinking problem. It may be an emotion they haven't named yet, pointing to a need they haven't identified.

In this experiential keynote, Charles will guide you through a practical four-step process for turning emotional signals into clearer thinking and new strategies.

Charles M. Jones has spent more than two decades helping leaders and coaches feel deeply, think clearly and act decisively under pressure. He is the author of Emotional Intelligence for Stress-free Leadership and a contributor to Fielding University's Innovations in Leadership Coaching.

A four-step process you can use in your coaching
1

Name the Emotion

2

Decode the Need

3

Test the Belief

4

Upgrade the Strategy

You'll work with something of your own, alongside a colleague, and leave with a tool you can put into practice right away.
Choose Your Breakout

Two Sessions. One Great Choice.

Before lunch, choose the experiential session that speaks most to where you are — and where you want to grow.

The Afternoon Experience

Take the Learning Off the Page

The afternoon is about slowing down, connecting the dots and learning with one another through conversation and coaching.

Be Coached

You'll move into small groups to reflect on what the day has opened up, practice coaching, experience being coached and exchange perspectives with fellow members of the community. This isn't about squeezing in one more presentation. It's about creating space to integrate what you've learned and experience the wisdom already in the room.

Learn together. Grow together.
